What is a Holistic Approach?
Taking a holistic approach is about considering the entirety of an individual when I provide services. This includes general lifestyle, home and work environments, and all physiological factors that come together to create the whole person. This approach to mental health services means that I can educate my clients on how lifestyle choices and basic nutrition may impact them and could be contributing to the identified impairments . This may mean that I help my clients develop and follow a holistic diet plan that incorporates more natural and organic foods and adds in natural holistic supplements. It may also be as simple a discussing the importance of staying hydrated and finding different ways of moving their body. Holistic means different things to different people in terms of how much change one is looking to have, and I am happy to meet my clients where ever they may be on this journey.
When appropriate, I can provide an initial, holistic assessment that; examines current and historical environmental & emotional stressors, assesses a clients current health concerns and discuss options for addressing these concerns.* If a client wants to go deeper in this process, I can help them develop a personalized diet plan and provide lifestyle & supplementation guidance. At this time I am not offering stand-alone, nutritional services, only integrated into my regular, mental health practice.
